The secret is out!! I am finally sharing “The Million Dollar Cookie Recipe ” ( Best Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie EVER)

First, I must share the story behind this cookie recipe…

Originally this started out as the “$250 Cookie Recipe” The story goes like this…

“The Million Dollar Cookie Recipe ” ( Best Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie EVER)

When the internet started making its debut where you could buy things using a bank card online, someone was selling this recipe for $2.50 (or that’s what the buyer thought the cost was.) When the payment for the cookie recipe was processed, the buyer realized they were charged $250. Of course, taken back, they decided to challenge the cost of the cookie recipe, which the seller declined to budge claiming the price was clearly $250 and that it was the buyer’s fault for not reading the price right…

Long story short, the buyer very upset, decided to start sharing and posting the recipe across the internet, which then landed up in my mom’s recipe box, which was then passed down to me.

Why is it now called “The Million Dollar Cookie Recipe” then?

Well, good question! Over time, I have decided to work with the original recipe and keep tweaking it until it was a super healthy version of the original recipe without lacking in taste!’

Last year, I am excited to say I accomplished this goal, and because I know it is healthy and delicious and in my opinion may taste better than the original recipe.

What kind of Flour does “The Million Dollar Cookie (The Best Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie Ever)” use?

I love good healthy chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and while I don’t think “The Million Dollar Cookie Recipe ” (Best Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie EVER) could be classified as an oatmeal cookie, in my opinion…

It does use rolled oats ground to a flour using a blender. I definitely think the oat flour helps make this recipe so good!

The other half of the flour you will use is whole-wheat flour.

I have said this many times, soft wheat is usually a great flour for baked goods. It definitely helps create soft chewy cookies, however, you could use almost any kind of whole-grain flour for this recipe.

I have used Einkorn, Hard White Whole Wheat Flour, Hard Red, Soft White… You name it, honestly, I don’t even remember the last time I used “All Purpose Flour.”

The more you bake with whole grains the more you realize how little you miss the white store-bought flour.

Coconut Sugar vs. Brown Sugar

If you haven’t read my other blog post in my “Whole Food Ingredient Index” for Coconut Sugar vs. Brown Sugar you may find it intriguing.

I will be completely honest, I have used both dehydrated raw can sugar and coconut sugar in “The Million Dollar Cookie Recipe ” ( Best Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie EVER)

The coconut sugar, I think adds such an amazing caramel taste to it however, I find that if I am not in the mood for the caramel taste the dehydrated raw cane sugar is defiantly my favorite option. Add a little bit of black strap molasses and you have got yourself some homemade brown sugar.

Now can we skip to the good part??!!!

You will love all these wholesome ingredients! And, who doesn’t LOVE a healthy chocolate chip cookie recipe?

So, without further ado…

How to store “The Million Dollar Cookie Recipe ” ( Best Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie EVER)

After they are fully cooled you can store cookies in an air-tight container, and they should last for up to a week… At least they do for me!

Also, the good thing about this recipe is when you make a whole batch it gives you SO much dough. I like to store the cookie dough in the refrigerator or the freezer and just use it as needed.

Let’s be honest, the best part about having cookie dough in the refrigerator is that you can eat it whenever your little heart desires.

That’s it! The secret is out for the “The Million Dollar Cookie Recipe ” ( Best Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie EVER)
