This Best Freshly Milled Double Chocolate Fudge Brownie Recipe is IT!!! As an avid chocolate lover, I searched high and low, mixed and fixed and there are a lot of brownie recipes out there! This, however, is totally the real thing in every single way! You can probably say this is a favorite sweet treat for me.

LET ME HAVE THE HONOR OF DESCRIBING THE BEST FRESHLY MILLED DOUBLE CHOCOLATE FUDGE BROWNIE RECIPE TO YOU

Where to even start, these double chocolate brownies have it all. Looking for fudgy brownies? Here! Gooey brownies? Also here! These come with the crinkly top that always seems to find itself on the top of every perfect-looking brownie you have ever seen in life, and the best part is it is whole grain freshly milled!!!

So, don’t blame me if the fudgy textures and taste cause you to want to eat one WHOLE pan by yourself in a day.

What is the best freshly milled flour to use in this recipe?

For all my whole grain recipes this is how I break it down with what to use in different recipes. I highly recommend using soft wheat ground at a pastry setting for any pastries. That being said, here is a quick overview of how I use hard vs soft in my kitchen.

BEST FRESHLY MILLED DOUBLE CHOCOLATE FUDGE BROWNIES RECIPE

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter 2 sticks
  • * 2 cups organic cane sugar
  • * 2 tsp. real vanilla extract
  • * 4 eggs
  • * 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • * 1 cup. Freshly milled flour
  • * 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • * 1/4 tsp salt
  • * 1 cup chopped nuts optional
  • * 1 cup organic chocolate chips or 1/2 cup mini organic chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking glass pan or two 8- or 9-inch square pans, whatever you have on hand should work, we just use glass.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan on medium-low heat, you don’t want it to burn.
  • Add sugar, vanilla, and eggs to a large bowl and whisk. You can do this in a stand mixer as well with your whisk attachment.
  • Once that is mixed, slowly pour in your melted butter whisking until it is well incorporated.
  • In a small bowl add your freshly milled flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, and mix well.
  • At this point, I add my chocolate chips to the dry ingredients, it helps so that they don’t all clump together when you mix them with the wet ingredients.
  • Now, it is time to pour your dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix them well.
  • Pour your brownie batter into your prepared pan and place into the oven.
  • Bake @350ºF for 28-30 minutes or until it is slightly firm to the touch and passes the toothpick test and comes out clean.
  • Let them cool down on a wire rack until they are room temperature before cutting into, although it may be tempting to eat them right out of the oven.
  • That being said, if you have fresh ice cream and need warm brownies to go with it, nobody should ever have to put off making the perfect brownie Sunday.
  • Once they are cooled, I like to cut them up place them on parchment paper, and sprinkle them lightly with powdered sugar.

You can definitely use what you have on hand, but this chart has yielded the best results within my own baking.

Salted butter or unsalted butter?

This is entirely up to the baker I feel. Rarely do I ever use unsalted butter in baking. I know there are some people who think it is extremely important to make a great recipe perfect, this salted vs unsalted butter debate is entirely up to you and what you want to do.

What kind of chocolate chips?

We use semi-sweet chocolate chips, sometimes mini and sometimes large. You can also use chocolate chunks, milk chocolate… Really, if you are one of the many chocolate lovers out there, choose with your heart! It has an intense chocolate flavor all on its own, so whatever you use, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Can I add nuts to this recipe?

Yes, yes you can! We don’t often as I have a child who is not a fan of nuts. However, if you do add nuts, I really enjoy pecans with this simple recipe.

How to store your Best Freshly Milled Double Chocolate Fudge Brownies Recipe

We have done three different things. One, you can use an airtight container and put them in the refrigerator like that. Two, you could just cover the pan with plastic wrap, or three, you can put the leftovers in a ziplock bag.

That’s it! I hope you love these amazing brownies as much as we do, and that they bring a little more happiness to your life.

You give two different sets of instructions in this recipe. In the first set you say to bake the brownies at 350 degrees for 28-30 minutes. In the second set you say preheat oven to 350 degrees, then to bake the brownies for 10 minutes at 400 degrees for 10 minutes and then drop to 350 degrees until done. Which instructions do you use? Thanks.
