How long does Strawberry Mango Salad dressing last in the refrigerator?

Well, if I am completely honest, in my refrigerator strawberry mango salad dressing only lasts about two days, its just that good! However, if you have more self control than I, I personally wouldn’t let it go past ten days. In my opinion, the more fresh, the better.

Tips for healthy sweetener alternatives

One of my favorite things to do when coming up with a recipe, is to experiment with different healthy sweetener alternatives. In this Strawberry Mango dressing, I have gone between maple syrup and Gentle Sweet from Trim Healthy Mama. However, I will post a list below of a few different sweeteners that you could use, because, if we are completely honest, sometimes we just don’t have all the things we need on hand, and I always appreciate knowing about great substitutions. I promise you will probably have at least one of these sweeteners in your cabinet today. And please if there is something you ever take away from my budget friendly whole food recipe blog, please let it be this advice, it is absolutely OK to make substitutes around what you currently have in your home.

List of alternative sweeteners you could try in this recipe

  • Maple Syrup
  • Honey
  • Monk Fruit
  • Coconut Sugar
  • Gentle sweet- you can find that here.
  • And all things considered if all you have is regular old sugar, just toss it in, you can stock up on the other natural sweeteners that you enjoy when hit up the grocery store again.

Variations

For this recipe, the mango is the base, it’s the boss. But, what if you don’t have strawberries on hand… Here are a few alternatives you could add in place of the strawberries.

  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Blackberries
  • Gracious, I have wild strawberries growing like crazy in my yard, could toss those in.

I am all about budget friendly and trying to work with what I have on hand. You would be surprised what you come up with. Honestly, this is how I come up with fresh recipes, mix and match things! What tastes good to you? Remember, if it taste good to you, thats all that matters right? Again, don’t be afraid to mix and match as you go!

Okay, time to talk the four simple ingredients you will need for making your Simple Healthy Homemade Strawberry Mango Dressing.

Of course you will need your mangos, you will need to pick your sweetener, (like I said, I go between maple syrup and Gentles Sweet through Trim Healthy Mama.) But, you do you, grab what you have on hand. You will also need lemon juice, we don’t want to leave out that tarty happiness. Lastly, you will need strawberries, the riper the strawberries, the better.

Best Homemade Healthy Strawberry Mango Salad Dressing

  • 2 Ripe Mangos
  • 1 package of strawberries
  • 1/4 maple syrup or alternative sweetener of choice
  • 1/4 cup. Lemon juice or one freshly squeezed lemon
  • Peel and slice mangos. I have found the easiest way to peel and slice a mango, is to firstly, score the peel into four equal parts, from tip to tip long ways.
  • Secondly, gently peel each section off, then it is ready to slice!
  • Next, take stems off of strawberries and rinse.
  • Place chopped mango into blender, add strawberries, lemon juice and maple syrup.
  • Now it’s time to blend the crazies out of it!
  • Let it blend for one minute then transfer it into dressing container. Make sure to keep it cold until ready to use.
