Let’s be honest, to get a store-bought granola, especially if it is healthy, at the grocery store, can cost a pretty penny! The good news is, you could have your own 1/2 gallon or more of fresh homemade healthy granola recipe in one hour or less and for a fraction of the cost!
The best part here is not many ingredients, however, that doesn’t have to stop you from adding in your favorite dried fruit, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, or pumpkin seeds! The list of your add-ins is endless! If you think an add-in tastes amazing, they will probably pair well with this granola recipe.
SUPER Easy Homemade Granola Recipe
Not to say this too many times but, when I say this is an easy granola recipe, I kid you not… It makes for a great healthy breakfast option. You can serve it with milk topped with fresh berries. Or a yogurt parfait topped with a swerve of maple syrup. You can also use it as a quick healthy snack

Need more healthy breakfast ideas? You can make these up the night before so that they are just grab-and-go for breakfast.
Here is one of my favorite ways to use this granola…
- Add a spoon full of jam to the bottom of a pint-size mason jar
- Put in 1/2 c. of greek yogurt
- Dump in a 1/4-1/3 cup of “Best Easy Healthy Homemade Granola”
- Top with a swerve of maple syrup and your favorite fresh berries
- Seal and put in the refrigerator for the next morning’s breakfast or a quick healthy snack

Best Easy Healthy Homemade Granola
Ingredients
- 7 c. Rolled Oatmeal
- 3/4 c. Oat Bran
- 2 c. Chopped nuts of choice more if you prefer
- 2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 3/4 c. Coconut Oil
- 1 c. Real Maple Syrup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250ºF
- In a large bowl mix dry ingredients
- For wet ingredients, melt coconut oil in a pan than add maple syrup and mix
- Add maple syrup and coconut oil mixture into dry ingredients and stir until well combined
- Grab a sheet pan and spread an even layer of granola mixture onto the pan. (I personally use two baking sheets for this because I like to have a little more crunch, however, this is totally a personal choice.)
- Baking time is 45 minutes: That being said, every 15 minutes you want to give the granola a good stirring.
- Once finished you can use it immediately or store it in an airtight container. It can stay at room temperature.
What Kind Of Oatmeal To Use
I have used quick oats however, I find for this recipe, I really like old-fashioned oats the best! I just feel like it makes this simple homemade granola recipe turn out so much better.
What Kind Of Nuts?
You can use any kind of nut that suits your fancy. I have used walnuts, almonds, and peanuts, however, my favorite to use in the recipe is pecans. Funny enough, the only reason I even tried pecans is because one of my kids didn’t like walnuts… Now, because of how much I love the pecans in the recipe, I don’t know that I will ever go back.
Also, I add 2 cups of nuts to this recipe, but some who have tried this recipe love to add a lot more nuts… So if you love more nuts, don’t be shy about adding them. Remember, this is YOUR granola!
Maple Syrup Or Honey?
This recipe calls for maple syrup, but you can absolutely use honey. I would just do the same amount of honey as the recipe calls for the amount of maple syrup you would have used.
That being said, I LOVE maple syrup WAY better for this easy recipe! That is just another total personal preference thing.
Oat Bran
Guess what?? There are ONLY 8 ingredients needed for this easy healthy granola recipe. The only one you may not have on hand is oat bran, everything else most people have in their kitchens.
If you are wanting to make this granola right away, and you do not have oat bran… I have been known to skip the oat bran if I am out.
I do feel like the oat bran helps with the texture so if you can help it, I wouldn’t skip it. However, do not let the oat bran stop you from giving this recipe a try!
