Best Healthy Homemade Chicken Pot Pie

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • 4-5 medium potatoes chopped
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 4 carrots peeled and slices
  • Olive Oil to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder
  • 2 cups of chopped chicken or even leftover turkey
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 cups of chicken bone broth
  • 4 Tbs Butter
  • 3/4 cup whole grain flour (I add more flour to this to give the filling a more creamy texture than just regular gravy
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  • After your pie crust is ready pour chicken mixture into the pie crust!
  • Cover with top crust,
  • Whisk an egg yolk and a little water and then using a pastry brush spread evenly on top of the pie crust.
  • Bake at 350ºF for 35 minutes or until the top is slightly golden brown
