How To Caramelize The Apples First (Optional Step)

It's a little more time consuming but, it definitely is worth the extra time in my opinion to add this step. The reason, I don't do this step as often is well, because of the extra time it takes.
However, it is so good, it probably should just be the way it is made all. the. time.
You will need...
  • 6 Tbs. Butter
  • 6 Tbs. Coconut Sugar
  • Melt butter in skillet before adding the sliced apples.
  • Add in coconut sugar and whisk until it start to become a caramel texture.
  • Turn heat off and add your cinnamon and apple slices.
  • Bake apples for the 10 min as directions say before adding topping, then continue on with the rest of the original directions.
